Peter Dore, Co-founder & Furniture Designer
Peter's practice sits on an array of influencers including printmakers, painters, furniture craftsmen, and industrial design concepts and materials. He looks to Ellsworth Kelly’s shapes, George Nakashima’s philosophy, Richard Tuttle’s whimsy and confidence, Ralph Waldo Emerson’s rhetoric, and my mentor Dana Byrd’s thoughtfulness for direct infusion when in need of inspiration. With the use of new and traditional processes he designs and builds modern, artistic furniture that will stand the test of time.
Emily Heggie, Co-founder & Industrial Designer
Emily is driven to design products that are thoughtful in simplicity, honest in construction and built to last. Her education in Industrial Design from the Pratt Institute provides her with a keen sense of form and proportion, attention to detail, and value for human centered design. Emily also studied furniture design in Copenhagen, Denmark where she gained a deeper appreciation for their simplicity of form and clean, honest connections. A few designers she looks up to are Hans Wegner, Alvar Aalto, and the Eames for of their elegant forms, understanding of materials and timeless designs.
